SENT ONES (LUKE 10:1-20)

Why today in the American church are there so few souls being added to the kingdom?

We see here in Luke 10:1-2, that the Lord had disciples willing to be sent out in two's. The Lord said the Harvest is great the problem is the workers are few because the lack of prayer. The harvest is a bi-product of our personal growth. As we bear fruit (grow in character), harvest follows, the unsaved around us see the witness of Christ and are drawn to Him.

The Devil's device to prevent Harvest is to hinder our spiritual growth, he does this by causing us to turn against one another. To gossip and backbite rather than to pray and build each other up. We are part of a body and only when each member supports one another through prayer does the body develop and mature. If we took the same amount of time to pray for others as much as we talk about them positive change rather than continual negative results would follow.

A child doesn't naturally desire to work, they want to play, and just simply have fun. One works as they grow up and naturally desire to be self-sufficient and be a help to others. The American church is still in childhood behavior because of the lack of prayer for one another.

Living sacrificially is the ingredient for successful adulthood. It is necessary in order to be a good parent, spouse, employee, etc. So few American Christians are willing to sacrifice because they haven't spiritually grown up.

The Lord reveals in Luke 10:3-20 the sacrifices of being a sent one. No longer will they be safe, they are going into dangerous ground, the enemies territory. They must completely trust in God and not in material things. They will experience both acceptance and rejection and pronounce blessings or curses accordingly. Great demonic opposition will they encounter, but yet great authority and power over the enemy will be upon them.

Only those mature can handle such sacrifices and again maturity comes as we pray for one another, then and only then will sent ones be released into the fields, and the harvest follow. So let's make this our prayer, Lord let me talk about nobody or nothing but pray about everyone and everything.
